They say that scent is the most direct path to memory. For me, it is a map of the world.
The story of Cera Pura began long before the first wick was centered. It began in the vibrant landscapes of Venezuela and within the rich, multi-cultural tapestry of my own history. My ancestry is a bridge between worlds — stretching from the sun-drenched coasts of the Mediterranean and the ancient sands of North Africa to the soulful rhythms of West Africa and the lush heart of South America.
I grew up at the intersection of these cultures, learning early on that while our languages may differ, our rituals remain the same. I saw how a single flame could turn a physical space into a sanctuary, and how a specific aroma could call across oceans to bring a sense of "home" to the present moment.
In every culture I carry within me, light and scent are sacred. They mark transitions. They honor memories. They create space for the things that matter most — reflection, healing, connection.
I created Cera Pura — Spanish for "Pure Wax" — to honor this global lineage. The name itself is a declaration: nothing hidden, nothing synthetic, nothing that doesn't belong.
Every candle in this collection is a tribute to the diverse cultural threads that make us who we are. The Mediterranean tradition of olive oil lamps. The North African practice of burning oud and amber during ceremony. The West African reverence for natural elements in spiritual practice. The South American belief that what you bring into your home shapes the energy within it.
